The Alliance was pleased to host its first Investor Reception of 2013, where Bill Canary was the keynote speaker.  Canary currently serves as President and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama.  In a discussion with 150 local private and public sector leaders on April 29, Billy Canary, president and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama, stressed the importance of education and economic development. Canary praised Baldwin County elected officials and private business leaders for their vision and understanding the importance of education and economic development and the close connection between the two.

Stewart Lodges at Steelwood, a corporate retreat and meeting facility on the grounds of Steelwood Resort (http://www.stewartlodgeatsteelwood.com), hosted the event. Working on behalf of almost three-quarters of million working Alabamians through its member companies and local chambers of commerce, the BCA is the voice for Alabama business (http://www.bcatoday.org).
