FOLEY – The Goodrich Corporation, Alabama Service
Center in Foley, has received the Diamond Award from the Federal Aviation
Administration for a third consecutive year.
The center was awarded the FAA’s Diamond Award for its
successful participation in the Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards
Program.
The awards were presented at a celebration by the
center’s general manager, Stuart Kay, and John Hardy, FAA quality assurance
manager at the Flight Standards District Office in Birmingham.
Kay accepted the Diamond Award on behalf of the Alabama
Service Center. The Center provides service to many carriers that need
repair and overhaul of various structures.
The FAA program teaches aviation employees about
federal rules and regulations designed to ensure safe aircraft maintenance
and repair. To achieve the Diamond Award, a company must have 25 percent of
its workforce complete some level of training.
Of the 126 eligible employees, 101, or 80 percent,
received a bronze, silver, gold, ruby or diamond award.
