Directions: From Northbound Highway 59: Go to red light at Love's Truck Stop, turn Right. Go to stop sign, turn Left onto Highway 49, go approximately 2 miles, turn Right onto Truck Trail 17. The gates to the Steelwood Resort will be 2.3 miles on your left. Take a slight left onto Steelwood Ridge Rd. In one mile, turn left onto Dogwood Grove, turn almost immediately onto Waterview Drive East.

Laura Davis Chandler will serve as the new Executive Director for the Southwest Alabama Workforce Development Council Region 9 Inc.
Bob Higgins, chairman of the board of directors at South Alabama Workforce Development Region 9, today announced that Laura Davis Chandler has accepted the position of executive director of the organization.
“Ms. Chandler’s experience and leadership ability will add tremendously to our organization’s efforts to meet the workforce needs of our area,” Higgins said when making the announcement.
Chandler’s most recent previous position was president and CEO of the Gulf Coast Renaissance Corporation, a non-profit, public-private partnership formed following Hurricane Katrina. In that capacity, she directed efforts to remove obstacles to the rebuilding effort and to stimulate private real estate development and investment in the three coastal counties of Mississippi. Earlier, she served as senior deputy director of Fannie Mae in Mobile and as development manager for the Mitchell Company, Inc., a Mobile-based real estate development and management firm.
Chandler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Auburn University and a master’s degree in city and regional planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
